Amos Coli
Heirloom
Mid Season
Indeterminate

A Local Heirloom!  This variety has been grown for decades in the Santa Clara Valley, and was recently given to Brad Gates to keep the variety alive.  Plants produce very large red pasted tomatoes that make great sauces and salsas.

Ananas Noir

Mid Season
Indeterminate

A customer favorite and also one of ours! French for “Black Pineapple.” The interior of these large tomatoes is a bright mix of pink, red, green and yellow, and each color has a distinct flavor.  Overall a sweet and juicy tomato, this is a truly unique and delicious variety that produces very well over a long season.

Arkansas Traveler
Mid Season
Indeterminate
A medium-sized tomato with a beautiful rose color. An excellent variety from Arkansas, tolerant to heat and humidity; crack and disease resistant. Good flavor, an excellent hillbilly favorite. Round, 6-8 oz fruits are tart-sweet.

Good in varying climates

In our top 3 best tasting tomatoes every year!  Beautiful and delicious heirloom beefsteak variety from Ruby Arnold of Greenville, TN.  Slightly flattened, 1-pound fruits that ripen to a soft green-yellow with a slight pink blush that extends to the inside.  Fruity, subtle, sweet and juicy with good texture.  Great sliced on its own or topped with a bit of Burrata.

Black from Tula
Heirloom

Mid Season
Indeterminate

A wonderful Russian heirloom.  Produces beautiful 3-4” meaty purple/black, slightly flattened beefsteaks.  A great black tomato with smoky, salty, sweet flavors.  We're happy to bring this one back.

BLUE BEAUTY
Blue Beauty
Mid Season
Indeterminate
We are having so much fun with the blue tomatoes, and this one is a winner.  Another Brad Gates variety, this gorgeous variety is like many of the blues -- high in anti-oxidants, sunburn & crack-resistant, great production, and hangs well on the vine.  The flavor is bright and clean with a lovely sweetness. Plus, this one ripens earlier than many of the other blues.

Chocolate Stripes

Mid Season
Indeterminate

This beautiful bi-colored black tomato is top rated with gardeners, and rates very high in taste tests.  These are large plants that produce 3-4” mahogany colored tomatoes with olive striping.  The flavor is  rich, sweet, and earthy, as we’ve come to expect from great black tomatoes.

Cuor Di Bue

Mid Season
Indeterminate

We love this Italian Oxheart variety.  It is one of the first medium sized tomatoes to ripen in our garden each year, and it produces steadily all season.  Tomatoes are juicy with few seeds and the flavors are lovely and well balanced.  A great do-it-all tomato and a good staple variety to have in the garden.

Dester

Mid Season
Indeterminate

A rival to Brandywine flavors, this variety was collected from an Amish woman, who received it from a German family. Produces large, pink/red full flavored beefsteak tomatoes that have been winning quite a few taste tests, and are consistently good from year to year.

Giant Syrian
Heirloom
Mid Season
Indeterminate

This West Virginal heirloom is uncomonly super-versatile.  The 1-3 pound, true-tomato-taste fruits are good for slicing, sauce, paste, and canning.

Heidi
Heirloom

Mid Season
Indeterminate

A highly respected and prolific tomato from Africa that bears 2-1/2-inch, pear-shaped, bright-red fruit with rich tomato flavor.   Fruits are thick walled and meaty, making for a great sauce, salsa, or canning tomato. Resistant to BER, unlike so many paste tomatoes.  Produces over a long season.

Julia Child
Mid Season
Indeterminate

Named for you-know-who, this lovely girl could be a staple in any kitchen.  These deep-pink, gently-fluted 4" beefsteaks have a bold, clean flavor enhanced by its sweetness and balanced acidity.  This hard-to-find variety was introduced by TomatoFest in honor of the legendary American champion of good-eatin'.

Opalka
Heirloom
Mid Season
Indeterminate

An heirloom originally from Poland around 1900.  Vigorous vines produce some of the best tasting, 5-inch long red past tomatoes.  Very meaty with few seeds, fruits are loaded with rich sweet flavors perfect for making sauces.

Rutgers
Heirloom
Mid Season
Indeterminate

Developed in the 1930's for the Campbell Soup company, Rutgers is a versatile variety that produces red, globe shaped fruits with a lovely interior that has a good balance of flesh to gel.  Plants are polite and stay on the smaller side yet produce very well.

San Marzano
Mid Season
Indeterminate

This is the mama of the San Marzano family.  It is the plum-shaped, heavy-producing variety that is more familiar to many people than the larger SM Redorta variety we have been carrying.  In addition to its fame as a superior paste tomato, it also has a more, well, comforting look to its leaves -- those of us who have had anxious moments over the deceptively wispy look of the SM Redorta will not lose sleep over this variety.

Soldacki
Heirloom
Mid Season
Indeterminate

A vigorous potato-leafed variety from Cleveland via Poland. Deep pink fruits are large, thin skinned and meaty.  The flesh is firm, low acid, and sweet.  A memorable variety!

Sudduth Strain Brandywine
Heirloom

Late Season

Our absolute favorite Brandywine. This wonderful Heirloom Brandywine strain was handed down by Dorris Sudduth Hill whose family grew them for 80 years. Large pink beefsteak fruits. Incredibly rich, intense, complex tomato flavors, very well balanced.  This variety of Brandywine produces consistently well every year.  Fruit tends to ripen in flushes. We grow it every year!

Thieneman's Australian Heart
Heirloom
Mid Season
Indeterminate

Brought home from Australia by a WWII U.S. servicemember, these rare and beautiful fruits are moderate to heavy producers of gigantic 1 pounders.  A showcase tomato that has complex, sweet flavors and is meaty enough for a sandwich OR a paste.

Tobolsk

A 100 year old Russian heirloom from near the arctic circle, this tomato is rare, yet a favorite of those who have grown it. A productive plant that produces beautiful yellow orange fruits with lovely balanced flavors.  A must try!

This is a wonderful, medium sized, bright golden orange tomato that is beautiful on the vine and on the plate.  It has a sweet, yet well balanced flavor profile, has a smooth shape and skin and rarely cracks.

White
Mid Season
Indeterminate

We LOVE white tomatoes.  We grew this one our first year and thought it was fantastic. Medium sized beefsteaks have a lovely ivory color and subtle, nicely sweet flavors.  Try slicing this one and layering it between slices of black tomato--stunning!
